Do the drawers come out of the furniture?

In most cases drawers are removable. We use a variety of hardware solutions – it depends on the vendor’s expertise and price point of the item. Most commonly we either use ball bearing glides or wooden runners.

What are ball bearing glides?

Slides with ball bearings offer the ideal mixture of value and strength under heavy loads. Typically ball bearing slides are made of carbonized or stainless steel. They are better than many earlier types of drawer slides because they stand up extremely well to wear and are an ideal solution for load bearing capacity. The ball bearing slides run within ball bearing retainers, basically grooves, between the telescopic parts of the slide.

Is the hardware utilized in Williams-Sonoma, Inc. furniture collections lead free?

All Williams-Sonoma, Inc. products meet requirements set by California Proposition 65, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and the Canadian Surface Coating Materials Regulation. These agencies have all set lead levels that are considered safe, Williams-Sonoma, Inc. consistently tests below these acceptable levels.

In most instances we do offer replacements for damaged or lost hardware free of charge. Contact customer service to request replacement hardware.
