Customer Frequently Asked Questions
Will the surface of the leather be flawless?
Scars, bug bites and branding marks are natural markings and proof of authenticity and should not be considered flaws. All leathers display a variety of unique natural markings and color, with an average hide ranging in size from 40 to 60 square feet. A single armchair typically uses 2-3 leather hides.
Will my chairs be exactly the same color?
Aniline dying is unique from hide to hide and each hide will absorb dyes differently. Variations in color and texture are inherent to each hide; no two pieces are exactly alike. Leather color WILL vary from piece to piece.
How will the leather change over time?
Aniline-dyed leather will lighten and soften with both use and time and develop a rich, burnished patina. Customers who purchase aniline leathers can look forward to their furniture developing even more character over the years.
What should I expect as normal wear and tear?
Around areas of frequent use, such as the seat and arm, the natural oils will move around to cause a lightening of the color. This is the natural progression of aniline dyed leather and should not be considered as a flaw.
